Clinton County residents may drop off acids and hazardous products at the Wildcat Solid Waste District.

Acids are corrosive to eyes, skin, and metals.  They can cause serious chemical burns so always wear appropriate protective equipment when handling.

We urge residents to call the Solid Waste District before handling and transporting acids (765) 659-4257

Never throw chemicals in a garbage bag as they have a tendency to tip over and spill during transport.  Mixed chemicals can cause a reaction and pose a hazard to workers.  Pack materials upright in a cardboard box or plastic tote and bring to Wild Cat Solid Waste District.  You can line the box or tote with a garbage bag for added spill protection.

  • Sulfuric Acid
  • Hydrochloric Acid
  • Muriatic Acid
  • Oxalic Acid
  • Nitric Acid
  • Miscellaneous Acids
To avoid a spill during transfer, transport the acid container riding upright in a box with the lid on tight.
