toxicLightbulbs

Many light bulbs contain mercury or mercury vapor.  Mercury is a liquid metal that is toxic to humans and wildlife.  All light bulbs that contain mercury should be brought to Wild Cat Solid Waste District where we can send them to be recycled.

Mercury containing bulbs include fluorescent, compact fluorescent, xenon, mercury vapor, high pressure sodium, metal halide, projector lamps and television projection tv lamps.

Non mercury containing bulbs can go out with the regular trash. They are not recyclable. These bulbs include incandescent bulbs, and halogen bulbs.
